Changes made with less than 48 hour notice may be charged for the original dates reserved. You may add days onto your reservation at any time, provided we have the space available. Please call by 4 pm (if possible) if you are not going to be able to pick up your pet on your scheduled date. We will return your call if we do not have room to keep your pet so you can make arrangements for someone to pick-up your pet for you. You must give us the name of the person which you authorize to pick-up your pet.
It is the policy of Canine Comfort Inn to consider a pet abandoned if he/she is not picked-up or we don't receive a call within five (5) days of the scheduled pick-up date. Canine Comfort Inn may re-home any pet once it is considered abandoned at the pet owner's expense.
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to your reserved drop off date. Any cancellation made with less than 48 hour notice may incur a one (1) night charge for boarding. A "no show" (not calling to cancel a reservation before your reserved drop-off date) will incur a two (2) night charge for boarding.
FOOD/TOYS/MEDICATIONS
Some pets have a sensitive stomach so we ask that you bring in your pet's regular diet. Please be sure to measure out their food and give us enough for an extra day in case your pick-up is delayed. All foods must be in a sealed container with your pet's name on it. NO ZIPLOCK BAGS (per the City of Menomonie) or GLASS CONTAINERS. We generally feed pets twice per day or as directed by the pet owner. Refrigeration is available. If for any reason we run out of food, we have a high quality dry food available at the pet owner's cost. At this time we cannot administer medication to cats.
All pets are given a treat at bedtime. If your pet has allergies or is selective about treats, you are welcome to bring in your own.
Please bring in your pet's medications and specific instructions on dosage so we can administer it accordingly. Refrigeration is available.
Each dog is provided with a food and water dish as well as a Kuranda bed (cot) and a blanket to sleep on. You are welcome to bring bedding from home as long as it is completely machine washable (NO PILLOWS OR PET BEDS). Please remember that bedding can get chewed up or mixed up in the wash and may not be returned to you so don't bring a favorite blanket. We encourage you to bring up to two (2) toys or bones per dog from home, as long as it is something you feel is safe to leave with your pet (no rawhide). Please keep in mind, toys may be soiled, chewed up and disposed of or misplaced so don't bring a favorite toy.
For cats, we provide food and water dishes, a Kuranda bed (cot) and a blanket to sleep on as well as the litter box and litter. You are required to bring in your own food in a sealed container. You are welcome to bring in a small, machine washable blanket and a few toys.
FLEA AND TICK
We do our best to keep our facility flea and tick free, but we cannot guarantee this. We do recommend that your pet be treated with a quality spot-on treatment or oral medication.
It is the policy of Canine Comfort Inn to treat for fleas immediately upon any dog showing signs of having them. As the pet owner, you are responsible for any costs incurred due to any necessary flea treatment.
PLAYTIME
If you choose to add playtimes onto your pet's boarding, we offer both group or individual playtimes to suit your pet's needs. Any dog participating in our group sessions must be spayed or neutered (if over 6 months). We reserve the right to remove any dogs from the play group that show any signs of aggressive or dominant behavior.
Canine Comfort Inn temperament tests all dogs before allowing them to participate in group playtime but that does not guarantee that accidents will not happen. Dogs participating in group playtimes may be at risk of being exposed to illness or being injured while playing with other dogs. Canine Comfort Inn is not responsible for any illness or injury that occurs during these play sessions.
DAMAGE
The pet owner is responsible for any damage/harm caused by their pets, to other pets or to the facility, while staying with us and therefore responsible for any bills incurred.
LIABILITY
Canine Comfort Inn will take all precautions when caring for your pet including providing a clean and safe environment as well as an attentive staff. Grooming Waiver
Matted Pets
Matted pets may need to be shaved shorter than the original length discussed. Matted pets are charged an extra fee, usually $5 - $10 but can be as high as $15 - $20 for severe cases. Matted pets are more difficult to shave and may have their skin irritated by the clippers or even cut. Though we are very careful, injury and irritation are still possible. Canine Comfort Inn is not responsible for any vet bills due to irritated skin or cuts while shaving matted pets.
Canine Comfort Inn will brush out only minimal mats. The rest may have to be cut or shaved out as combing out mats can be painful to the dog. Your pet's best interest always comes first.
Aggressive Dogs
We do not allow tranquilized pets to bee groomed here. We do use muzzles if your pet is showing signs of aggression, but we always give them the benefit of the doubt first. If you have been told or think that your dog might bite or nip, please tell us before we groom him/her. It's always better to be prepared rather than surprised.
Vet Bills / Incomplete Groom
At Canine Comfort Inn, we use the utmost diligence when grooming pets but we are working with sharp instruments and wiggly pets so accidents can happen. We are not responsible for injury of your pet due to inappropriate behavior such as pulling, extreme wiggling, biting, etc. If we feel that we cannot safely groom your pet, we will stop grooming and charges will be based on the amount of work done as well as the amount of time spent on your pet. We will help teach you to work on your pet's behavior at home so we can have better success next time.
Older Pets
We love our older pets but they have a more difficult time with being groomed. They tend to be sore and sometimes nippy if something pulls or hurts them. Sometimes, they can't stand for the length of time needed to complete the groom or they may become unfocused and easily distracted making it difficult to get them to stand still. If this is the case with your pet, we start doing "Comfort Grooms". This allows us to do the bulk of the necessary grooming to keep your pet comfortable without the length of time standing on the table or lifting the paws. Your pet's best interest always comes first.
Puppies
Puppies are very impressionable and since they are going to have a lifetime of grooming, we try to make their first few visits fun. Being fun and learning "grooming manners" are the most important parts of the first couple of grooming visits and we don't expect haircuts to come out perfect. Puppies are very wiggly and have extremely short attention spans so we will only do what we can do safely. We will also show and explain grooming methods and which grooming tools to use at home.
Payment / Cancellations / Early Drop-off, Late Pick-up
Payment is due at the time the pet is picked up. We accept checks or cash - NO CARDS. There is a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.
There is no charge for cancelling or changing a grooming appointment as long as you give us at least 48 hour notice. There is a $20 fee for cancelling appointments with less than 48 hour notice. "No Show"s will be charged for the entire grooming price as we have limited appointments available and we reserved that time slot for your pet.
If you need to drop your pet off early or pick up late (during our regular business hours), please let us know ahead of time as cage space is limited.
Please be on time for your scheduled appointment. We may not be able to accommodate a pet that is more than 15 minutes late for their appointment as we keep a very tight daily schedule. If you think you might be late, please call and we will let you know what options are available.
Please don't arrive early to pick up your dog. If we are still working on him/her and they see you, they get so excited it's very difficult for us to be able to finish.
Grooming Process
The groomer will go over the type of cut you would like for your pet, you tell us what you want and we'll tell you if we can do it or offer suggestions if needed. The first couple of times are the hardest as we are trying to visualize exactly what you are looking for so if we don't get it right, please let us know so we can make notes for next time. If it is something we can fix now, we are happy to do it at no charge as long as you bring it to our attention within 48 hours. After that corrections can still be made but charges may apply.
It is the policy of Canine Comfort Inn not to have the pet owners stay during the grooming process. Owners can distract their pets, and the pets will be looking to the owner for comfort and reassurance instead of trusting and forming a bond with the groomer.
Thank you for trusting us with your furry family member - we take this responsibility seriously and will do everything possible to make this a good experience for both you and your pet
Will you allow Canine Comfort Inn to post pictures of your pet on their website or facebook page? (circle one) yes no
I have read and understand the above information.
